Due to COVID it is with great disappointment that we could not celebrate our 125th anniversary. We have postponed the celebrations to next May when we will have a club dinner and we plan to have some celebration fixtures under the new floodlights. On the Ladies front we are holding an Inner Warrior night on this coming  Wednesday 26th May
They also have a full contact game on the 06th June at home versus Ryton ladies with KO @ 2.00 pm.


As restrictions ease we are delighted to re-open our doors to the public. Our first day of indoor trading will be Thursday 20th May.

Why not join us for a curry on opening night. Just £8 and includes a bottle of beer.

We will also be starting Sunday Dinners from 23rd May. Why not treat yourself  with good food, drink and company.


We hosted Prudhoe and Stocksfield on 1st of May in a modified rules game.
A great way to return to rugby. So good to see so many people enjoying themselves at the club. Special thanks to Roly Wills for organising, Tony Rutherford for refereeing and of course to Nicci and all her staff for managing so well. 

We plan to have another game on Sat 22nd May (opposition not yet determined). It would be great to see you there.


It has been confirmed that a couple of scenes in Series XI episode 4 will be filmed at the club on 28th May. Keep an eye out and you may see one or two familiar faces in the background.

Practice Game with Prudhoe and Stockfield (1st of May 2021)

We will be playing (under adapted laws) our Northumberland neighbours this Saturday.   The games is a practice game and all players are invited to attend. If you wish to play please contact Roly Wills or Ben Archer.

County Cup Final 2019-2020

Our club are still enquiring with the Durham County about whether they can play the County Plate final with Sunderland who are up for it with us also.

Answer from latest County meeting is that they will support both teams if both clubs agree to this. The club contacted Sunderland who said they are interested and would be willing to get together with us to arrange a game before the new season starts in Sept.

Ladies Inner Warrior Event

The Ladies Rugby are to hold an Inner Warrior event in May/June 2022 and why not bring a friend / colleague along to this session contacts are Chris Stewart and Layla Rowe. Chris is taking his coaching level 2 badge and has been put forward by the club for rugby coaching mentorship by the RFU.

Players are welcomed back to training on a Monday and a Wednesday with Chris Stewart and Layla and for the Ladies.

The club has two Durham Referee Society referees in Kevin Allison and Tony Rutherford and are available to let you know about the adapted and the new laws that have been put in place since this season and will be used in the 2021-2022 season.
